Broken Mirror
By: Tim Bearden

The face in the mirror is the face you see everyday.
The same you wear to work and out to play.
Some people see what you are and some see what you could be;
Don't you wish you could see what they see?
Because to you the image is distorted,
And your eyes, ears, nose, and mouth are all contorted.
You think to yourself the mirror may be broken,
Yet those thoughts remain unspoken.
Items on your face appear in different places,
And soon you begin to see different faces.
They all show up in your pool of glass;
Just a glance and then they pass.
You assume their opinions and attitudes change,
Although you know their thoughts and words are out of range.
You are at a point you must change your career,
But you're lost and and not sure which way to steer.
The faces give you pressure because the are ppeople you know,
But look at your reflection and try to decide which way to go.
Remember you're the only person that knows what's best for you,
So don't let anyone tell you what you should do.
Later on you take another look and your face is one,
And you can look back on all the good things you have done.
